SKW Schwarz advises DORC on the acquisition of shares in WEFIS GmbH

At the beginning of 2022 we have already reported on the advice provided to the Dutch company DORC International on a strategic partnership with WEFIS GmbH.

DORC acquired the remaining shares in WEFIS GmbH in September 2022. This transaction was accompanied by SKW Schwarz attorney Frank van Alen.

WEFIS has been a supplier to DORC in the field of cataract and retinal surgery since 2003 and a business partner of the company in Germany since 2008. WEFIS, founded in 1998, focuses on developing, producing and distributing instruments for ophthalmic surgery. The company is headquartered in Cologne and runs its development and production sites in Westerburg.

D.O.R.C. Dutch Ophthalmic Research Center (International) B.V. develops and exports instruments and devices for retinal and cataract surgery in more than 80 countries worldwide and has its own sales and marketing organisations in Austria, Belgium, China, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, the United Kingdom and the US.
