The use of influencers is now part of everyday business for many companies. Comparatively new and one of the latest marketing trends is the use of virtual influencers, i.e. a computer-generated person who not only looks deceptively real, but also "lives" like a real influencer. Among other things, virtual influencers have a great advantage over their real colleagues from a marketing point of view: they can be "designed" to fit the respective target group. While some of the risks that arise when working with real influencers do not apply to virtual influencers, some new legal questions arise.
