SKW Schwarz has advised the Norwegian company Arendals Fossekompani ASA on acquiring a majority stake of 54.9% in the energy storage specialist Commeo GmbH.
Arendals Fossekompani is acquiring the shares for its new battery-centric concept Ampwell, thus continuing its growth strategy in the field of energy technology. By combining Commeo's hardware with the expertise and technology of AFK portfolio companies Volue and EFD Induction, as well as start-up Cellect Energy, Ampwell aims to build a battery technology ecosystem and a "battery-as-a-service" business model.
Commeo GmbH, founded in 2014 and based in Wallenhorst near Osnabrück in Lower Saxony, offers solutions for commercial and industrial energy storage. The company plans to start construction of a new production facility this year, which, when completed, will further improve Commeo's production process and capacity.
The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
